The Water Cycle

In class, there were various stations set up around the room. A few of these stations were labeled "Resovoir," "Ocean," and "Agriculture." Next we were all handed either a cup or a notecard. If you were handed a cup, you were a "cloud." If you were handed a notecard, you had to transport water from one station to the next. The station you were traveling to and from were labeled on the card. Also, it was written if you had to use a small dixie cup or a plastic teaspoon to move the water. The clouds' job was to collect water from the people transporting the water. If you came across a cloud, you would have to pour the water you were moving into the cloud's cup.

The purpose of this activity was to demonstrate the water cycle and how it works. From this activity, I learned that agriculture is a very large part of where water goes. Agriculture uses a lot of water because of the needs for watering plants and nourishing crops. I also learned that the water cycle is a very complex system and clouds absorb most, if not all, of the traveling water or water molecules.
